We are looking for a few computer-wise residents of the different neighborhoods of Southeast to add to this blog, and make it a source for more Southeast news, more in-depth news.
For example; to go by the media's reporting, the propane leak on 9th the Wednesday night. According to media reports of the next day - the stretch between the 7-11 at the top of the bridge and the bridge over the river was closed all night. Reality: It was closed by 9:20pm, and open by 10:15pm.
Southeast is widely ignored by the media, what happens in Southeast seems to stay in Southeast - but that's not always a good thing.
We would like to change that. And it starts here.
We are asking folks to step forward and contribute news items, neighborhood information, and street-level news to this blog. If your neighbor has had a baby, why not congratulate them here? If the police were called to your neighborhood for something, and you know what it is - pass it along here.
All of life's little joys and miseries, the big news and the small - it all deserves to be heard. Right now - there is no place to find it. Let's make that place.
Welcome your new neighbors (like Flo, who recently moved in on Buena Vista, and left a comment - Welcome to the neighborhood), talk about problem areas, and spread the word. Southeast is still here - and still vibrant as ever.
Drop us a line: seroanoke@gmail.com if you are interested, or have a tip you'd like to pass on.
