"Southeast Action Forum raises over $600 dollars for Officer Bryan Lawrence During 'National Night Out' Bake Sale."
(Roanoke, Va) On August 5th, the Southeast Action Forum (SEAF) held a bake sale as part of it's National Night Out celebration, the SEAF held a bake sale for Officer Bryan Lawrence, who was injured a few months ago. Members and guests purchased nearly 30 cakes and auctioned off 4 - raising a grand total of $617 dollars earmarked for Offcr. Lawrence's fund to help offset some medical bills.
Over 75 neighbors came to the Police Substation on Jamison Ave., the former Fire Station #6, on Tuesday night for Hot Dogs, Snow Cones, and baked goods galore. The Fire Department gave tours of their equipment, and the Police Department brought the Mobile Command Unit for all to explore. But the main focus of the event was to support all of Roanoke's Police and Fire personnel, including Officer Lawrence.
"Officer Bryan Lawrence visited the SEAF on November 7th, 2007 to lead us through organizing neighborhood watches," said Chairwoman Sandra Eanes; "we were very thankful for his assistance in helping us to secure our homes and neighborhoods."
The event, in it's 2nd year, raised more awareness of Southeast and gathered together more Neighbors than most other events; thanks to great weather. "It just goes to show that Southeast is discovering the SEAF, and the SEAF is reaching out to more of Southeast," said Secretary Karena Clinton.

Congratulations on your event and turnout. I read it in The Roanoke Star-Sentinel.
Yes, great weather - so glad it did not get as hot as once forcast.
We too had the largest turnout for this we ever had. There were many more organizations having an event this year.
