Oh what a night

Last night's meeting of the Southeast Action Forum was a barn-burner of a meeting, where much was accomplished and much more is on deck to be done.

2008 is looking to be a busy year for the Southeast Action Forum. We are now forming sub-committees and assembling projects.

A partial list:

The 2nd Annual SEAF Ice Cream Social on May 17th
National Night Out BBQ
Community Gardening (soon to be organized enough to be it's own group)
Safety and Code Enforcement
Neighborhood Beautification (Starting with Clean Valley Day)
Neighborhood Watches (established in a few areas now, expanding soon)
Signage for the Community
Welcome Wagon Committee
and a Newsletter (coming soon to a pair of eyes near you)

So, anyone think we are just sitting around talking about stray cats?

It was a very productive meetting. One thing not mentioned here is the St. Patrick's Day Parade. The parade is on March 15th. The lineup area is between Walnut and Albemarle on Jefferson. Lineup for the parade begins at 10:30am, but I think we agreed to meet at 11:00am. Someone please correct me if I am wrong! I hope everyone who attened will be available, and possibly bring a neighbor to march with us. Let's show Roanoke, South East is alive and active! It is time the rest of the city knows we care about our neighborhood, and they should also!
