Roanoke PD offering Rape Prevention Seminars

The Roanoke Police Department is sponsoring four Rape Prevention Seminars during the month of May, open to all citizens and free of charge. This is the first time the seminars have been offered at absolutely no cost, as the Roanoke PD has donated the funds to cover the classes.

Refreshments will also be provided, free of charge as well. The classes will cover prevention, awareness, and other topics including some defensive techniques. Citizens are asked to register, but it is not mandatory. Call 540-853-5725 to register for these important classes.

The class dates will run May 8th, 15th, 17th, and 21st from 6pm until 7:30pm in the Community Room of the Roanoke Police Department Headquarters located at 348 Campbell Ave. SW.

This is a great opportunity to learn some awareness and prevention techniques so that you feel more secure.

The Southeast Action forum will be actively working to bring one of these classes to the Police Substation in the near future. But in the meantime, register for these classes. They are a useful tool when it comes to keeping yourself secure and confident.
